Admission Process

The admission process is intended to be personal and informative for all prospective families.

School Tour
Families are encouraged to visit the school for a tour of the campus and talk with our admission staff. Appointments can be made by contacting us via E-Mail at iscmuscat@sabis.net.

Application and Required Documents

Documents Needed

a. A completed application form (Application forms are available from the school office, via E-mail, and downloadable as a PDF.)

b. A completed medical form (Medical forms can be obtained from the office or by E-mail.) Please mention any medical problem which we need to know about to ensure the full safety of your children.

To satisfy the requirements of the Ministry of Education, the following items should also be provided:

c. The most recent original school report from the previous school. The report should show the class, date, and results, and if issued by a school in Muscat*, it should carry the stamp of the school. A transfer certificate, attested by the Ministry of Education, is also required. (The school will keep a photocopy of the school report.)

* GCC countries:

(i) For GCC Countries, the school report should carry the stamp of the school. A transfer certificate, attested by the Ministry of Education, is also required. (We will keep the original school report and the transfer certificate.)

(ii) For other countries, the school report should be attested by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Embassy of Oman in that country. (We will keep the original school report and the transfer certificate.) A letter of equivalence should be obtained from the Ministry of Education in Oman (Department of Private Schools).

d. Birth Certificate

* If the birth certificate is issued in Muscat, no attestation is required.

* If the birth certificate is issued in a country outside Oman (except USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or a West European country), the student's original birth certificate should be attested by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Oman in that country, we will only take a photocopy of the birth certificate. All birth certificates should be in either English or Arabic. If the translation is done outside Muscat, then the attestation procedure -as above- will apply.

e. A copy of the passport of the child and his/her guardian, showing valid residence visas.

f. Four recent passport-size photographs with the student’s name on the back.

Once all the above documents are handed in, they become the property of the school.

g. A copy of both parents’ Omani identity card is required.

Testing
Students applying to enter Grades 2 and above sit for diagnostic tests as part of the admission process. Upon completion, the diagnostic tests are marked and a decision upon placement is made by the school.

Admission Decisions

Admission decisions are made after careful evaluation of the candidates. Results of diagnostic testing and previous school records are considered on a case-by-case basis. Additional criteria for admission include motivation, social and emotional development, willingness to work hard, and the ability of ISC-Muscat to accommodate the needs of the candidate.

Please note that, in order to complete the registration, the above mentioned documents should be presented upon initiation of the admission process.

Once accepted and the required fees are paid, a place for the student is reserved.
